If you want to learn how to work niobium into your jewelry designs this is the class for you. Learn to apply basic metalworking techniques to niobium sheet and wire; then take your created pieces and colorfully anodize them. Learn the cold connections that will turn your new pieces into beautiful, wearable jewelry. Students will learn how to cut, drill, shape, texture, file, and sand niobium sheet and wire; anodizing techniques; and riveting.

Making An Impression
Sunday, January 28, 12:30 – 7:30 pm
Students will emboss, imprint, texture, and stamp niobium sheet using hammers, metal stamps, a metal corrugator and the Sizzix Big Kick. Then use bath anodizing, sanding, and brush anodizing techniques to add color to your creations.
Kit Includes: 18- & 20-gauge un-anodized niobium wire; 3” x3” 24- & 28-gauge un-anodized niobium sheet, and a 3M sanding pad
Tuesday, January 30, 8:30 -11:30 am
Learn to cut niobium sheet with metal shears, bend, texture it and then colorfully anodize your created pieces. Add beads with wire and jump rings to suggest falling rain. Students will learn how to cut, drill, shape, file, and sand niobium sheet and wire; some fold forming techniques; anodizing techniques.
Kit Includes: 2 pair niobium earwires, 3″x 3″ 26-gauge un-anodized niobium sheet, 15 5mm jump rings, small package magatama seed beads, and a 3M sanding pad
Cab Set Niobium Pendant
Tuesday, January 30, 4:30 – 7:30 pm
Tab setting is a way to set a niobium pendant with a cabochon. Cut, file and sand to create a pendant, then anodize it to harmonize with your chosen cabochon.
Kit Includes: 1 1/2” x 3” 24-gauge unanodized niobium sheet, 6” 16-gauge niobium wire, a resin or polymer cabochon, 18” silversilk capture chain, niobium clasp, and a 3M sanding pad
February 1, 8:30 am -3:30 pm
Apply basic metalworking techniques to niobium wire and sheet, and explore how different resist materials allow you to create unique pieces that can be used in designing jewelry. Bath anodizing will be used to create the colors.

Air Chased Cuff
Friday, February 2, 4:30 – 7:30 pm
Beginning with a loose fold, hammers, daps and chasing tools will create a mix of raised and depressed textures in niobium. Open out the folds, add more texture if wanted and then anodize your cuff to suit your personal color sense.

Saturday, February 3, 12:30 – 7:30 pm
Create a pendant, armature, and hook clasp by forging and fold forming using niobium wire. Leaves are fold formed, flowers are cut and dapped, then they are all anodized in your colors, assembled and hung on a SilverSilk chain.
